The Owen Sound Art Banner Committee is now accepting application from regional artists interested in participating in the 2010 Owen Sound Art Banner Exhibition in Downtown Owen Sound.
We invite all regional artists of Grey and Bruce Counties to participate in this exciting project, which will feature forty-eight artist banners installed throughout Owen Sound’s downtown core on Second Avenue East in 2010-2011. Three banners have been reserved for community youth. Don’t delay – the deadline for artist submissions is fast approaching on April 15, 2010.
The banner committee will endeavour to find a sponsor for each of the forty-eight banners produced for this cultural, downtown beautification project. Sponsorships cost $100. Artists may sponsor their own banner, find their own sponsor, or allow the Owen Sound Banner Art Committee to match available sponsors with available banners.
Artist benefits for participation in the project include:
- an invitation to the artist/sponsor meet and greet on May 16, 2010 at 1 pm at the Owen Sound Farmer’s Market
- significant exposure in a high traffic area in Grey County’s largest city
- exposure on the www.artbanner.ca website permanently, with a link to your website, if applicable
- your name listed in the Sun Times as a featured artist in the 2010-2011 art banner project
- an opportunity to network with other artists and be part of a significant regional arts and culture project
- an opportunity to network with community sponsors at the spring banner launch
Sponsorship benefits include:
- an invitation to the artist/sponsor meet and greet at the banner launch on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 1 pm at the Farmer’s Market
- your name or your company’s name listed beside your sponsored banner on the artbanner.ca website permanently, with a link to your website, if applicable
- your name or your company’s name listed in the Sun Times as a sponsor shortly after the banner installations
- your very own sponsored banner presented to you to keep after its one-year installation period throughout Owen Sound
- the pride that comes from civic engagement with the arts community and the beautification of Owen Sound
Artists may submit three images for consideration.
